Meet Sue Carter
Business Woman / Writer / Councillor
Creator of RYI (Rushmoor Youth Influence), a group established to ensure young people have a voice. Also founded the Youth Forum, bringing together all organisations that work with youth to explore how they can collaborate and deliver better outcomes collectively. Creator of Radioactive8, a company that provided party and balloon services while offering ad hoc work opportunities for young people. Although the company was dissolved due to funding constraints, Sue continues this work independently.
In 2013, she was awarded Top Coach of Hampshire by Steve Claridge for the Hampshire FA. She also founded the Football Nursery for Rushmoor Community FC. Sue Carter is a passionate community leader, accomplished businesswoman, and the creative force behind Mitch and Maisy’s Secret Garden.
Sue has also served as a trustee of Southwood Infant School for four years, Parsonage Farm, and Aldershot Football Club.

Sue’s Journey
Sue’s journey began in grassroots youth coaching, earning Hampshire’s Top Coach Award in 2013. She went on to serve as Mayor of Rushmoor (2019–20) and now holds a Cabinet role focused on Democracy, Strategy, and Partnerships. Through every role, Sue’s passion for supporting young voices has remained constant.
